Extruding is a design technique in which a deformable material (clay) is forced through a die.

Extruding is a continuous or discontinuous process.

The mold contains at least one, more or less complex-formed hole that gives the finished material, the extruding profile, its shape.

TIPS: Always soften hard clays with your hands before putting into the barrel

To use the clay extruder:

• Select the disc design that you want to use. Place the disc in the end of the barrel extruder.
• Knead a small amount of clay in your hands to warm and soften the clay before extruding.
• Roll clay into an oblong shape and insert it into the barrel of the extruder from the bottom.
• If necessary use a small stiff bottle washer to help clean the clay out of the barrel.
