Product description
Known for its fine grain, Darwi air-curing modeling clay can be used for any modeling or sculpting work.
The mass can be used to make small decorative items, jewelry, dolls, statuettes or even to repair various objects such as furniture.
The mass is odorless and does not stick to the hands, so it is easy to do the work.
Clay is plastic and semi-elastic.
When drying, the object does not shrink and is completely opaque.
Darwi ROC
After drying, Darwi Roc is even harder and more durable than classic clay.
It is used for more delicate work.
When dry, it is highly impact resistant.
With marble-like hardness, your creation can fall without breaking!
After drying, the clay will take on a slightly ivory hue. Sand it for a whiter result.
If you're planning to make a complex sculpture with lots of fine details, we recommend using a wire frame to serve as a structure for the clay while it's still wet until it dries completely.
Available in 1kg pieces.
How to use Darwi plastic?
Before starting work, the mass must be kneaded, add a little water if the clay is not flexible enough, and knead it carefully until cracks do not form.
Work fast. If yours is a long-term job, you may notice some parts starting to dry out. If this is the case, moisten the clay slightly.
If you want to add one element to another that is already dry, wet the surface before adding the second part or use acrylic glue to join the two dry elements.
If you are working with clay on a porous material, first moisten the surface with water so that the water in the Darwi clay does not immediately soak into the base and dry out. This can cause cracks.
When you're done with your sculpture, let it dry and rest on paper towels.
If you don't have paper towels, be sure to turn the shape over so the base can dry as well.
If you try to speed up the drying time, cracks may appear.
The sculpture needs at least 24 hours at room temperature to be completely dry. This time is indicative, as it may change depending on the room and air humidity!
After drying, the object can be painted with acrylic paints and varnished with water-based varnish.
How to store Darwi clay?
The opened package of self-hardening clay should be stored hermetically, away from air and heat.
To keep the mass fresh for months, it should be wrapped in a damp cloth, then closed with an airtight plastic bag. Store in the refrigerator.
